A business delegation of lumberjacks visited the United States between April 21 and 27, 2026. They visited Cleveland, Ohio, and High Point, North Carolina.

The delegation was organized by the Public Agency SPIRIT Slovenia with the support of the Directorate for Wood Industry at the Ministry of Forestry and Forestry. The implementation was coordinated by the Lesarski grozd in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, the Embassy in Washington and the Consulate General of the Republic of Slovenia in Cleveland. This is the sixth delegation to the USA since 2017, during which Slovenian woodworkers visited New York, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Chicago with the aim of deepening and strengthening business contacts.

The goal of this year’s delegation to the USA was to learn about the latest trends in the market and to find new business opportunities and contacts. The following companies expressed interest in the delegation: Marušič, VEZ, KO-SI, CBD, Alples, Murales, Gonzaga-Pro, M Sora, LIP Bled and SiDG.

The delegation first visited Cleveland, Ohio, which has a high concentration of real estate development and interior design. The delegation met with various institutions and companies at the Consulate General that can offer Slovenian companies support in entering and expanding in the US market. The delegation also met with Ms. Češarek, Consul General of the Republic of Slovenia in Cleveland, and visited a furniture company, a real estate developer, and the Slovenian National Hall.

The delegation continued its journey to High Point, North Carolina, where it will visit the largest furniture fair in the USA, High Point Market, where over 2,000 companies exhibit on one million square meters and the fair is visited by over 75,000 business visitors from all over the USA and the world. According to the fair, during this time, 8 billion USD worth of deals are concluded. The members of the delegation gained a very good insight into the US market and new contacts for exporting furniture and wood products.
