Study tour of reference wooden buildings in Austrian Styria

The Strategic Research and Innovation Partnership – Smart buildings and homes, including wood chain (SRIP PSiDL) organized a Study tour of reference wooden buildings in Austrian Styria on 23 May 2019. The study tour was attended by 50 architects, students of architecture, companies engaged in timber construction and others.
SRIP PSiDL pursues the goal of integrating products into the most comprehensive offer of solutions to the healthy living and working environment of the future. Important aspects are the development of quality construction with wood, smart, technological, energy and ecologically advanced buildings. Study visits to examples of wooden buildings abroad, contribute to a better understanding of the latest state of technology and architecture of timber construction.
The tour included several interesting wooden buildings in Leoben and Graz, various types of typologies, and in various stages of the implementation and use. Participants also visited the Smart City complex, where the city of Graz is testing new smart and green technologies and concepts.
