Mobility within the international project ALLVIEW

22. Jan. 2024 @ 08:00 26. Jan. 2024 @ 17:00

In the week from 22.1. until 26.1. 2024, Slovenian partners (Lesarski grozd, BF Department of Forestry and CPI) on the Erasmus+ project ALLVIEW, hosted 8 students (4 students from WoodArt Academy from Italy and 4 students from Warsaw University of Life Sciences from Poland). Professors/teachers (4 from Italy and 4 from Poland) also participated in the mobility. We have prepared a rich program for them.

On the first day, we welcomed them to the University of Ljubljana, Biotechnical Faculty, to the Department of Wood science and technology. Pupils and students received an assignment about used wood.

We showed the mobility participants how successful our timber companies are in the field of circularity, modern technologies, industry 4.0, smart buildings, modular construction, examples of good practices and successful projects in the field of sustainability. For this purpose, we visited the companies M Soro, d.d. and Marles Hiše Maribor, d.o.o.. We also visited Slovenian woodworking schools (Škofja Loka School Center, Maribor High School of Forestry and Forestry and Maribor Higher Vocational School of Woodworking and Design) and introduced the visiting teachers/professors to the curriculum, the implementation of the curriculum and practical training.

We also visited the Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute, where they presented us with the certification of wooden construction, why it is important and necessary. We also visited their laboratories, the most interesting was the laboratory with a 3D scanner, which can be used to make various replicas.

Only for teachers or and the professors were given a visit to the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Vocational Education and Training, because a constructive discussion was held regarding the educational levels in each country, what problems they face, how is the enrollment of students, ……

On the last day of mobility, students presented their findings on the content of chemical elements in used wood for reuse. Samples for tests were prepared from waste wood. They found that the reused wood contained large amounts of chlorine and copper. They emphasized that such wood is best used for processing into products for outdoor use.

When preparing the program, we tried to follow the main idea of the ALLVIEW project – to show and visit places that are in some way connected with the latest achievements of digitization and/or sustainability policy. Another goal was to differentiate the program as much as possible between teachers and students without losing quality.
