On February 15 and 16, 2023, we hosted a meeting of the consortium on the LIFE Climate Value Chains project, the purpose of which is to expand the use of the “Low Carbon Wood” environmental label, with which wood and furniture companies can demonstrate the low-carbon nature of their products based on short transport routes in the value added chain. Namely, for wood and furniture products, transport is the biggest contributor to the carbon footprint and thus has a negative impact on environmental pollution. By certifying products with short transport routes, the company directly contributes to the protection of the environment, which is becoming more and more important for both customers and the state. Certification according to the “Low Carbon Wood” scheme originates from Germany and is already taking place in German-speaking countries, and as part of the project, its use is expanding to Italy and Slovenia.

On February 15th, we held a special presentation of the “Low Carbon Timber” certificate for interested companies and visited the M Sora company, and on February 16th, we had a coordination meeting with the project partners regarding the implementation of the meeting.
