The Wood industry cluster, in cooperation with the Legno Arredo Casa FVG Cluster, Legno Servizi Forestry Cluster FVG from Italy, the SPIRIT Slovenia Public Agency and the MGTŠ, co-organized and participated in the implementation of the activities of the incoming economic delegation from Italy on 4th of November 2025.

The delegation consisted of 23 participants from Italian companies in the fields of forestry, woodworking and furniture, teachers from higher technical schools, students and architects, and six Slovenian companies and architects.

The delegation saw examples of new generation wooden buildings: concrete examples of how sustainability, applied research and technological innovation can change the way we design and build using a natural, renewable and highly durable raw material such as wood.

Participants visited the InnoRenew Center of Excellence in Izola, Centre for Seed, Nursery, and Forest Protection, Annex to Department of Wood Science and Technology, and Day-care center Pedenjped, unit Pedenjcarstvo in Ljubljani and the Sports Hall in Trzin. Organizirano pa je bilo tudi mreženje s slovenskimi podjetji.

The delegation participants gave a very positive assessment of the implementation and program of the delegation, as well as the opportunities for b2b networking. Such delegations are a good way to strengthen cross-border cooperation and open new business connections between Italy and Slovenia.

The event is organized by SPIRIT Slovenia, a public agency with financial support from the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport.
