Between 6th and 9th of September 2022, a business delegation of Slovenian furniture companies was in Sweden. It is the first such delegation of furniture makers to this prospective market.

The delegation attended the companies hybridly; ERGO VITAE d.o.o., VUDEX d.o.o., MLINAR furniture d.o.o., MURALES d.o.d., L.ASK d.o.o. and the Wood Industry Cluster. They are providers of interior equipment, furniture and elements, most of them with experience in exporting to the foreign markets of Western Europe and Scandinavia. We visited the IKEA museum in Älmhult and the production of one of the largest Swedish furniture manufacturers, Kinnarps, in Skillingaryd, which is located in the heart of the Swedish furniture industry – Småland. In addition, Interior Cluster Sweden also organized business meetings with Swedish companies and a hybrid event “Furniture Go International“, where we obtained a lot of useful information about the business environment in Sweden and their furniture industry.

The delegation then visited the Furniture museum in Stockholm, led by the renowned architect Lars Bülow, and at Stockholm Design Week several showrooms of well-known Swedish furniture companies (Lammhults, Johanson Design, Horreds, Blå Station, Källemo,…) and had business meetings with them.

We can conclude that the delegation was very successful, both from business and from the point of view of insight into the trends in the field of Swedish design. The potential for exporting furniture to Sweden is very large, and it is necessary to continue to strengthen cooperation.
