Kick-off meeting at the international DRWO 4.0 project

We are proud to host kick-off meeting of the project DRWO 4.0 in Ljubljana! The partnership consists of 14 partners from 11 countries of the Danube region, supplemented by 18 associated strategic partners!

The introductory meeting, which took place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, was opened by Ivica Ambroš, director of the CEKOM competence center from Croatia, which is the leading partner of the project. In addition to Bernard Likar from the Wood Industry Cluster as a hosting partner, the welcome address was also given by a representative of associated strategic partners, Darko Sajko, Director General of the Directorate for Wood Industry at the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia, and Stella Arneri, Director of the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds of the Republic of Croatia.

A series of presentations followed;

In the panel discussion on the topic “Setting the scene for the transformation of the wood industry into Industry 4.0”, led by Marijan Kavran, they participated;

The first day of the event ended with presentations of the partners, the content of the project, an architectural tour of the center of Ljubljana and a networking dinner.

On the second day, the partners were greeted by Maks Merela, vice-dean of the Department of Wood Science and Technology at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana. The partners held a consortium meeting with the online inclusion of the Interreg DTP Joint Secretariat, followed by a tour of the laboratories of the Department of Wood Science and Technology, which is also an associated strategic partner of the project.

We are ready to start the full implementation of the transformation model of the Danube region’s wood industry in the direction of Industry 4.0!

The project “Model of transformation of the Danube wood industry in the direction of Industry 4.0 (DRWO4.0)” was approved at the 1st call of the INTERREG Danube region 2021-2027 program. The implementation of the project will last 24 months, from 01.01.2024 to 31.12.2025 with a total project budget of 1946560 EUR, of which 80% is co-financed from the Interreg DTP program.
