On April 19 and 20, 2023, a two-day business delegation of Slovenian furniture companies to the Salone del Mobile 2023 fair was successfully held. The delegation was jointly organized by the Public Agency SPIRIT Slovenia, the Directorate for Wood Industry at the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and sport, CCIS – Association of the Wood and Furniture Industry and the Wood Industry Cluster at with the support of the Consulate General in Milan.

The participants of the delegation visited the Salone Del Mobile fair and the Tortona Design Week at Superstudio Più in Milan. In addition, members of the delegation visited the Ordine degli Architetti di Milano, and business meetings with Italian architects, agents and companies were organized. The delegation consisted of the companies Ergo Vitae, Joinery Florjančič, Atrium Novi interieri, Gonzaga-Pro, Mlinar Furniture and the Wood Industry Cluster.

The delegation was very successful, as the participants established several new business contacts, and the Saloni del Mobili fair and the Tortona Design Weed exhibition gave the participants an excellent insight into trends in furniture design and development.

“Our expectations on the Italian market, which represents one of the largest export markets for Slovenian furniture makers, were primarily new business connections with design and architectural bureaus and agents. Insight into trends and innovations was also very important, as the development of furniture today is happening very quickly. In May, we also have a delegation to the ICFF New York fair in the USA and Toronto, Canada, and in December to Cairo, Egypt,” said Bernard Likar from the Lesarski cluster.
