On Thursday, 16 December 2021, an expert tour of the reference buildings of wooden construction was carried out in Graz, Austria. The expert tour was attended by 28 architects and civil engineers, who visited a number of very interesting wooden buildings of different typologies of construction, such as; 6-storey wooden residential building, wooden school building, an example of a modern wooden building in the city center, an example of social housing in wooden construction and an area with several different types of wooden residential buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slovenia pursues the goal of the largest possible share of new constructions with the highest possible share of the use of wood and wood products. To this end, the Regulation on Green Public Procurement has been adopted, with which the state wants to increase the use of wood and generate examples of good practice that will be followed in the private sector. Therefore, it is important to know examples and development of quality construction with wood, smart, technological, energy and ecologically advanced buildings. Expert visits to examples of reference buildings of wooden construction abroad, contribute to a better understanding of the latest state of technology and architecture of wooden construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bernard Likar, of the Wood Industry Cluster, said; “The expert visit is part of many years of efforts to strengthen wooden construction in Slovenia. With such events, we want to give Slovenian architects and civil engineers new knowledge and experience that they will be able to use in the design and engineering of new surplus of wooden construction in our country. Wooden construction is becoming more and more established in Slovenia, and development in this area is very fast. “<\/p>\n\n\n\n
