SUMMARY:Workshop for architects "Protecting\, installing and using wood in outdoor applications" - Triplewood
DESCRIPTION:On February 4\, 2019\, at the Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana\, a well-attended workshop for architects was held “Protecting\, installing and using wood in outdoor applications”. The workshop presented the latest knowledge that responds to the demands of clients and investors regarding the aesthetic appearance of wooden buildings\, and offered answers to the changed climatic conditions and answers to new ways of timber management for sustainable and quality wooden construction. The advantages of wooden construction are known not only to reduce the burden on the environment\, the speed of construction\, but increasingly important are other advantages such as greater energy efficiency of wooden buildings\, their seismic safety\, higher quality of living and others. In addition to this\, the main condition for durability is the high quality wooden construction\, not only in terms of aesthetics\, but also the functionality\, purpose and maintenance of wooden buildings. \n \nThe lecturers of the workshop did not only offer the transfer of the latest knowledge on quality wooden construction\, but also experience using this knowledge in practice. Only the knowledge about quality wooden construction\, which can be used in practice\, is an added value that will enable further growth of the share of wooden construction in Slovenia\, increase the level of confidence and thereby increase the share of public wooden buildings for a lasting culture of living for their users. \nLearn more about the workshop program HERE. \nWithin the framework of the workshop and in the framework of the EUSALP TRIPLE WOOD international project\, in the form of an international exhibition\, the good practices of wooden construction in Slovenia and the wider area of ​​the Alpine space were presented\, with some very different private and public wooden buildings and other wooden infrastructure objects. Exhibtion was at dispoal on the Biotechnical Faculty in Ljubljana from 4 to 14 February 2019.
