SUMMARY:DRWO 4.0 Pilot Environment West meeting
DESCRIPTION:On January 9\, 2025\, we organized the second working meeting of the group for preparing the basis for the operation of the pilot environment west (PE West)\, which connects partners from Austria\, the Czech Republic and Slovenia\, as well as associated Germany. In addition to PE West\, PE East and PE South are also being prepared. \n\nThe primary objective of the PEs establishment is to create functional\, cross-border\, interdisciplinary collaboration hubs for diverse stakeholders which will serve as platforms to support the transformation of the forest-based industry toward I4.0. \n\nThe opening event\, where we will launch all three PEs\, will be held on February 4\, 2025 in Pécs\, Hungary. The event will be hosted by the Cultural Creative Industries Cluster.

SUMMARY:FLIER project partners meeting\, Barcelona\, ​​Spain
DESCRIPTION:On December 2 and 3\, the third plenary meeting of the Erasmus FLIER project took place. The meeting was held at WEcontractBCN\, a showroom in the heart of Barcelona managed by AMBIT. \n\nDuring the first day of the meeting\, the focus was on reviewing the general management aspects of the project and on sharing the partners’ progress with the training materials under development. FLIER partners are currently immersed in the preparation of the training materials that will make up the new online course on circular economy for furniture designers. The course will be composed of four highly topical learning units: i) Circular Design Process; ii) Legislative Framework for Furniture Industries; iii) Voluntary Instruments; and iv) Effective Environmental Communication. \n\nThe second day of the meeting was devoted to fine-tuning the functionalities of the e-learning platform that will host the new online course and to dissemination and community development. Regarding the platform\, it will be available in 4 languages (English\, Spanish\, Italian and Slovenian) and will integrate 4 learning units and 3 lessons each. The course will last 25 hours (equivalent to 1 ECVET credit\, EQF 4) and will allow flexible learning paths\, allowing the lessons to be taken in the order and pace desired. Passing the multiple-choice test for each learning unit will automatically result in obtaining a certificate of recognition for that unit. And if all 4 learning units are passed\, the certificate for the full course will be obtained. The online course is expected to open in April 2025.

SUMMARY:Transnational workshop and partnership meeting on the DRWO 4.0 project
DESCRIPTION:On 20th and 21st of November 2024\, we attended the transnational workshop and partnership meeting DRWO 4.0 in Gradište\, Croatia\, hosted by CEKOM – Center for Competence and Research\, which is also the project coordinator. \n\nThe first day was dedicated to a transnational workshop\, which was organized to exchange knowledge and experience previously gained during the analysis of the situation in the participating countries regarding the level of maturity of the introduction of Industry 4.0\, and to introduce some examples of good practice. \n\nOn the second day\, the project partners reviewed the project implementation to date and agreed on the next steps\, which include the preparation of an action plan and the establishment of pilot environments. Pilot environments (PE) are intended to support the transformation of the wood and furniture industry of the Danube Region in line with Industry 4.0. and connect key stakeholders from the wood and furniture industry.

SUMMARY:Kick-off meeting on the FULAR project
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, November 15\, 2024\, we attended the online introductory meeting of the partnership on the Interreg IPA Adrion project FULAR. \n\n\n\nFULAR aims at enhancing the implementation of circular economy approaches to production processes in the furniture sector\, raising awareness among the main sectoral actors in the Adriatic Ionian Region regarding sustainability\, individuating alternative materials\, technologies\, and assembly techniques to foster circularity in wood-based industry. Prototyping of furniture items with the alternative materials previously selected is aimed at encouraging the use of the circular solutions. \n\n\n\nThe FULAR project will last three years\, and the partnership includes 10 partners from seven Mediterranean countries.

SUMMARY:Slovenian Forest -based sector development day 2024
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, November 14\, 2024\, the 12th Development Day of the Slovenian Forest-based Sector was held as part of the Ambient and Dom plus fair\, organized by SPIRIT Slovenia in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy\, Tourism and Sport together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia\, the Wood Industry Cluster\, UL Faculty of Biotechnology\, the Forestry Institute of Slovenia and the Association of woodworkers of Slovenia. This year’s Development Day of the forest and timber sector was focused on the very current topic of EU environmental policies and their impact on the operations and development of wood and furniture companies. \n\n\n\nThe event was attended by more than 120 participants from various fields\, including management and development personnel from companies\, researchers\, architects\, designers\, students\, representatives of ministries and the media. The participants had the opportunity to listen to interesting lectures and discussions by experts from the academic\, economic and public sectors\, who presented their views\, experiences and examples of good practices regarding the implementation of the green transition\, which the EU promotes with the regulations from the Green Deal. Next year\, this area will certainly appear high on the agenda of companies as well as politicians\, researchers\, architects and designers\, as many directives will come into full force\, which will be very demanding to implement both in terms of time\, content and finances\, and will have a great impact on competitiveness. \n\n\n\nThe event was opened by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy\, Tourism and Sport Dejan Židan\, who emphasized the importance of the forestry sector in Slovenia and expressed his support for its green transition. He was followed by a welcome address from the Director General of the Directorate for Forestry and Hunting at the Ministry of Agriculture\, Forestry and Food Gregor Meterc. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe first part of the event was dedicated to presentations of the EU regulations from the Green Deal\, which are extremely important for the forest sector. Simona Vrevc from the Ministry of Agriculture\, Forestry and Food presented the EU regulation on products that do not cause deforestation\, or the EUDR regulation for short. This was followed by Gabriella Kemendi\, Secretary General of the European Furniture Industries Confederation\, who presented the EU Ecodesign Regulation for Sustainable Products (ESPR)\, which is very important for furniture companies. The first part of the event was concluded by Darja Virjent from the consulting company Ernst & Young Slovenia\, who presented the EU regulation on corporate sustainability reporting (CSRD). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe second part of the event was dedicated to the presentation of good practices and projects regarding wooden construction and the green transition. Dr. Boštjan Lesar from UL Biotechnical Faculty presented guidelines for quality wooden construction\, Mojca Pintar from M Sora d.d. spoke about the experience with sustainable reporting and carbon footprint\, Matic Navotnik from TAB d.d. and about the introduction of the product’s digital passport. Zlatka Poličar from A1 Slovenia focused on their example of good circularity practices\, and Janja Ribič from the Directorate of Wood Industry at the Ministry of Economic\, Tourism and Sport on the effectiveness of green public procurement of wood products. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe third part of the event was dedicated to the discussion on the topic of the big wave of EU environmental policies and the impact on the forest sector. The discussion was led by dr. Aleš Ugovšek\, and M.Sc. Mitja Piškur from SiDG d.o.o.\, Janez Rihter from Rihter d.o.o.\, dr. Luka Juvančič\, Faculty of Biotechnology and Ana Struna Bregar from CER – Partnership for a sustainable economy participated. The discussants exchanged their opinions\, experiences and suggestions on how the state can support the green transition and what companies and academia must do. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event was concluded with recommendations for measures and activities to support the forest and timber sector in the green transition: \n\n\n\n\nThe state must ensure better communication and faster implementation of European green directives in Slovenia\, as well as financial support for development and investments in companies related to the green transition.\n\n\n\n\n\nCurrently\, companies are in a wave of environmental and sustainable measures\, for which they are not adequately prepared\, monitoring everything is almost impossible\, and sustainable and circular business models are rare and economically (yet) inadequate.\n\n\n\n\n\nIt is necessary to strengthen cooperation between companies\, research organizations and the state in the green transition with new research and development\, training\, exchange of good practices (including foreign ones) and awareness raising.\n\n\n\n\n\nCompanies must consider new business models\, including lean\, energy and environmentally sustainable processes\, circular design for more reliable products that can be reused\, upgraded and repaired\, and the management of scrap and waste. We are also talking about introducing the concept of a double (green and digital) transition\, or Industries 5.0.\n\n\n\n\n\nIt is necessary for the country to implement the EU Regulation on Green Claims\, which prohibits the use of misleading environmental claims. SUMMARY:Completion of the project of official development assistance to the Albanian wood industry
DESCRIPTION:With the final event in Tirana\, Albania on November 11 and 12\, 2024\, we successfully completed the pilot project of official development assistance to the Albanian wood industry\, through which we laid the foundations for the development of a VET training center\, carried out the transfer of knowledge regarding modern forest management\, and strengthened the capacity of the Wood industry Cluster Albania and accelerate business cooperation between Albania and Slovenia. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA very successful project with very credible partners! We can’t wait for the possibility to continue on the second stage! DESCRIPTION:In the month of October\, the Allview Erasmus+ Vocational Excellence Platform proejct\, which is very important for the European wood sector\, is coming to an end\, in which 22 partners from 8 European countries participated. In the last meeting held on October 22\, 2024 online\, the partners gathered to review the progress of the project and agree on the last activities and reporting. \n\nThe partners reviewed in detail the achieved goals\, prepared documents and agreed on the last steps that need to be taken before the end of the project. \n\nThe project was successful and the partners expressed satisfaction with the results achieved. Together\, they pledged to continue working together on similar projects in the future.

SUMMARY:Study tour of innovative wooden public buildings in Austria
DESCRIPTION:Slovenia pursues the goal of the largest possible share of new construction with the highest possible share of wood and wood products. For this purpose\, the Regulation on Green Public Procurement has also been adopted\, with which the state aims to increase the use of wood and generate examples of good practice that will also be followed in the private sector. In this sense\, it is important to know the examples and development of quality construction with wood\, smart\, technologically\, energetically and ecologically advanced buildings. DESCRIPTION:On October 7 and 8\, 2024\, we contributed to the World Habitat Days\, organized by the Faculty of Design.  \n\nOn October 7\, we attended the opening\, where we presented the wood sector and its contribution to the design of living habitat in an urban environment with an emphasis on the use of wood as an environmentally and user-friendly material of the future. \n\n\n\nOn October 8\, we organized a workshop for wood and furniture companies on the topic of challenges and opportunities of the transition to a circular economy.  \n\nWe are glad to have been a part of World Habitat Days! \n\n \n\nYou can find more about the event HERE.

SUMMARY:The closing event of the ALLVIEW project in Lyon\, France
DESCRIPTION:On September 11 and 12\, 2024\, we attended the final conference of the ALLVIEW Erasmus+ Vocational Excellence Platform CoVE project\, which took place within the framework of the Vocational Excellence Forum in Lyon\, France. \n\nThe closing conference was attended by experts\, industry leaders and professionals to highlight the achievements of the Allview project\, a 4-year project that\, with the joint cooperation of European partners from the field of training and business\, laid the foundations for the modernization of lifelong learning in the EU wood sector. At the conference itself\, round tables and workshops were held\, where new learning methodologies\, sustainability and the future of professional and lifelong education were presented. The project partners have agreed on further cooperation with the aim of supporting the development of new learning content for the EU wood sector of the future. You can find more about the event HERE. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe goal of the ALLVIEW project is to modernize vocational education and training by connecting partners from the European wood and furniture industry. The ALLIEW project connects 22 partners from 8 EU countries\, and it lasted between 2020 – 2024.

DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, September 10\, 2024\, we held the final event for our partners (Transylvanian Furniture Cluster\, Romania\, Interior Cluster Sweden\, Sweden\, Cluster Habic\, Spain\, AMBIT – Living Spaces Cluster\, Spain\, Bulgarian Furniture Cluster\, Bulgaria\, PRO WOOD Regional Wood Cluster\, Romania\, Cluster of Czech Furniture Manufacturers\, Czech Republic) on the Furniture Go International project. \n\nOur three-year joint journey brought us a lot of new knowledge and experience regarding internationalization of companies and made us even better. We strengthened the trust\, carried out several business missions to our target markets of USA\, Canada\, Egypt and South Africa\, we connected with the FGOI ambassadors and planned our future joint activities in these markets \n\n\n\n\n\nAs proof of our interest in continuing joint work on internationalization\, we have established a new GO Furniture MEta-cluster. SUMMARY:WorldSkills competition in Lyon\, France
DESCRIPTION:Between September 10 and 11\, 2024\, we participated in the 47th WorldSkills competition in Lyon\, France as part of the Allview project. \n\nThe competition was attended by young people from all over the world from all possible branches\, including woodworking (carpenters\, carpenters\, etc.). The event not only showcased the exceptional skills and dedication of the young competitors\, but also fostered a sense of global unity and excellence\, a testament to WorldSkills‘ commitment to advancing skills and empowering future professionals. The achievements reflect the hard work and enthusiasm of all involved. A really good example of how to attract young people to the woodworking profession\, which is being developed in Slovenia by the SloveniaSkills initiative!

DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, August 29\, 2024\, we led an economic delegation to the International Wood Fair in Klagenfurt\, Austria\, where we attended the Cluster forum with very interesting lectures on developments in the industry and networked with Austrian companies. We also had the opportunity to meet companies from Latvia\, Argentina and Chile. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe also saw the fully automated production of LVL at the Bruno Ruhdorfer GmbH company and attended the WoodLake evening event at the Maria Loretto manor by the Wörthersee lake. \n\n\n\nThe delegation was involved: SATLER\, SI-CORE\, Moba\, HIDEX and the Directorate for the Wood Industry at the Ministry of Economy\, Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Slovenia. \n\n\n\nThank you for the support of the Carinthian Fair and the Slovenian Economic Association from Klagenfurt!

SUMMARY:Business delegation of woodworkers and furniture makers to Toronto\, Canadada
DESCRIPTION:From June 23 to 28\, 2024\, an economic delegation of six Slovenian wood and furniture companies was successfully held in Toronto\, Canada. It is the second such delegation with the aim of further deepening knowledge about this market and consolidating business contacts after last year’s delegation. \n\nThe goal of this year’s delegation in Canada was to learn about trends in the market and in the furniture industry\, and to find new business opportunities and contacts. The delegation was attended by representatives of six companies; Vudex d.o.o.\, Atrium Novi interieri d.o.o.\, Moba d.o.o.\, Leska d.o.o.\, Trilobit d.o.o.\, Most d.o.o.\, Melu d.o.o. and the Wood Industry Cluster. They are furniture and woodworking technology providers with export experience who address the Canadian market with niche products for custom interior fittings and contract products. The delegation’s brochure is available HERE. \n\nThe delegation visited Toronto\, Canada\, which is one of the fastest growing cities in North America and therefore offers many opportunities for the export of furniture and wood products. Theye met with the Wood Manufacturing Cluster of Ontario and visited the College Conestoga in Kitchener. They visited several showrooms and manufacturers and sellers of technological equipment and established new business connections with Canadian companies. The members of the delegation got a very good insight into the Canadian market and the possibilities for exporting furniture and equipment to this market\, which has a free customs agreement with the EU. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe delegation also met with Canadian-Slovenian entrepreneurs within the framework of the Canadian-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and participated in the National Day ceremony\, which our residents celebrate by raising the flag at Toronto City Hall. \n\n\n\n“Our expectations on the Canadian market\, which is a very promising export market for furniture makers\, were primarily new business connections and the acquisition of useful information about trends\, the business environment and conditions for exporting furniture. According to the positive assessment of the participants of the delegation\, it achieved its goals. This year\, we are also planning autumn delegations to Germany and Albania\,” said Bernard Likar from the Wood Industry Cluster. \n\n\n\nThe delegation was organized by the Public Agency SPIRIT Slovenia with the support of the Ministry of Economy\, Tourism and Sport. The coordination of the implementation was provided by the Wood Industry Cluster with the cooperation of CCIS – the Association of the Wood and Furniture Industry\, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Ottawa and the Canadian-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce from Toronto.

SUMMARY:Successful 2nd partner meeting at the FLIER project in Brussels
DESCRIPTION:On May 15 and 16 in Brussels\, we attended the 2nd meeting of partners of the Erasmus+ FLIER project hosted by EFIC – European Furniture Industries Confederation at the premises of the Catalan Region. \n\n\n\nThe discussion focused on technical work advancements\, particularly on the results of the survey recently implemented to validate the curriculum profile definition for circular designers\, which will serve as a base to produce training materials to support furniture designers in moving towards a circular economy. \n\n\n\nA key focus was also on preparations for Flier’s “validation workshop of international experts” in order to ensure the successful organization of the event and the involvement of stakeholders through thorough planning. \n\n\n\nThe meeting concluded with strategic planning for future activities\, including the coordination of dissemination efforts and scheduling of upcoming partnership meetings and calls.

SUMMARY:Business and educational visit from Albania
DESCRIPTION:From 13th 15th of May 2024\, together with the Department of Wood Science\, Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana\, we hosted an Albanian educational and business mission in Slovenia under the leadership of Wood Cluster Albania and the Agricultural University of Tirana – Faculty of Forest Sciences. The visit took place within the framework of the official development assistance project\, which is financed by the Ministry of Economy\, Tourism and Sport of R Slovenia and supervised by UNIDO! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe had an intensive exchange of experiences\, training for trainers\, visits to Slovenian furniture and wood companies\, a b2b matchmaking event and a visit to the main educational and research institutions in the furniture and wood sector in Slovenia. \n\nWe found many new ideas and new synergies!

DESCRIPTION:Between 7 and 8 May 2024\, the European Cluster Conference was held in Brussels\, attended by over 750 participants! \n\nAt the conference\, we established several new business connections with clusters from the EU and other countries\, and attended several seminars on the current topics of cluster development. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWithin the project  Furniture Go International\, in which eight furniture clusters from six EU countries participate\, we also held a meeting with the ambassador of the project\, with whom we plan long-term cooperation in supporting our activities on the US market.

The delegation was jointly organized by the Public Agency SPIRIT Slovenia\, the Directorate for Wood Industry at the Ministry of Economic\, Tourism and sport\, CCIS – the Association of the Wood and Furniture Industry and the Wood Industry Cluster with the support Consulate General in Milan. \n\nThe participants of the delegation visited the Salone Del Mobile fair and Tortona Design Week at Superstudio Più in Milan. In addition\, members of the delegation visited the design school at Politechnico Milano\, and business meetings with Italian engineering companies\, architects and agents were also organized. The delegation consisted of the companies Ergo Vitae d.o.o.\, Mizarstvo Florjančič d.o.o.\, Mlinar Pohištvo d.o.o.\, RUJZ Design d.o.o.\, Atrium Novi interieri d.o.o.\, Gonzaga-PRO d.o.o. and the Wood Industry Cluster. \n\nThe participants of the delegation established several new business contacts\, and the Salone del Mobile fair and the Tortona Design Week gave the participants an excellent insight into the trends in furniture design and development. The established contact with Politechnico Milano enables the development of cooperation on product design. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“The Italian market is one of the largest export markets for Slovenian furniture makers\, so support in finding new and consolidating existing contacts is highly desirable. Insight into trends and innovations is also very important\, as the development of furniture is happening very quickly. This year\, we are planning a delegation to Canada in June\, to Germany in October and to Albania in November”\, said Bernard Likar from the Wood Industry Cluster. \n\n\n\nThe event was organized by the Public Agency SPIRIT Slovenia with the support of the Ministry of Economy\, Tourism and Sport. The co-organizers are the Wood Industry Cluster and the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia – Association of the Wood and Furniture Industry with the support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Slovenia in Milan.

SUMMARY:Meeting of wood and furniture clusters of the Alpe Adria region on the subject of the EUDR - Regulation on Deforestation-free products
DESCRIPTION:On April 12\, 2024\, a meeting of the timber clusters of Carinthia\, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Slovenia took place in Tarvisio\, Italy\, where the actors of the Alpe Adria timber value chain discussed the pressing issue of the EUDR\, the Regulation on Deforestation-free products\, which is the subject of current debate on the European and world level. The implementation of the regulation\, which is not an easy challenge for European forestry and the wood industry\, is indeed difficult to implement in this form without a significant reduction in the competitiveness of the European wood industry on a global scale.The goal of the Alpe Adria region delegates – Cluster Legno Arredo Casa Fvg\, Wood Industry Cluster Slovenia\, Timber Innovation Network Alpe Adria (TINAA) accompanied by key stakeholders including Federlegno Arredo\, Confindustria Udine\, Legno Servizi\, Confartigianato Videm\, Land- und Forstbetriebe\, Kärnter Forstverein in the presence of official and political representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture\, Forestry and Food of the Republic of Slovenia\, Carinthia and the Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia\, as well as important entrepreneurs in the sector – was the exchange of best practices and the search for a common position towards the European Commission in terms of accelerating the revision of the EUDR\, that this would be feasible in the near future and would not significantly reduce the competitiveness of the European wood and furniture industry. \n\nAfter an institutional online welcome by Pietro Oieni\, head of the competent authority for wood of the Ministry of Agriculture\, Food Independence and Forestry of the Republic of Italy\, the EUDR was presented live from Brussels by Silvia Melegari\, general secretary of CEI Bois\, the umbrella European wood association\, in the discussion the representatives of the clusters highlighted their point of view. Slovenia’s position regarding the regulation was commented on by Simona Vrevc from the Slovenian Ministry of Agriculture\, Forestry and Food. \n\n\n\nAcknowledging the noble goal of this regulation\, the Legno Arredo Casa FVG cluster expressed strong concerns about its concrete implementation\, as expressed by the stakeholder delegates Alessandro Calcaterra\, Marco Vidoni\, Mirco Cigliani\, Paolo Fantoni and Carlo Piemonte. “We are ready to cooperate with the region\, the competent ministries and the European Union in order to ensure the protection of the environment and the production capacity of the sector\, but we submit a proposal to postpone the entry into force of the regulation\, especially when sanctioning the work\, which should provide for a transitional phase of at least 3 years. This will give us time to start a consultation with the EC to analyze and revise the most impactful parts of the regulation on bureaucratic burdens for companies.” \n\nConcern was also expressed on the side of the Wood Industry Cluster of Slovenia due to the significant bureaucratic burdens that the EUDR imposes on companies\, which would put a heavy burden especially on SMEs\, said Bojan Resman and Matej Mulej from LIP Bohinj and Bernard Likar from the Forestry Cluster. “In order to harmonize the EUDR directive with the interests of industry and forest owners\, we also propose a postponement of the implementation of the regulation\, at least until the EU information system is operational.” \n\nThe Timber Innovation Network Alpe-Adria from the Austrian Carinthia (TINAA) emphasized the importance of a European policy that supports forest owners and forestry companies in the active and sustainable management of forest resources\, that they are involved in the decision-making process through a structured dialogue. In order to avoid short-term burdens\, a revision of the regulation on deforestation is necessary\, which would eliminate legal uncertainties\, was the unanimous opinion of Stefanie Ofner\, present on behalf of the Carinthian Land Parliament\, Martin Gruber\, the former governor of Austrian Carinthia\, Christian Benger (Land &Forstbetriebe)\, Johannes Thun-Valsassina (Kärtner Forstverein)\, Matthias Granitzer (Waldverband Kärnten) and TINAA cluster leader Sebastian Adami. \n\nFinally\, the three clusters reiterated their commitment to strengthening dialogue and cooperation to address the challenges posed by the EUDR\, ensuring that the interests of their regions and the timber sector are adequately represented and protected\, respecting the balance between environmental protection\, economic growth and social prosperity.
